For those who were unable to make this Meetup, you missed the burnt muffin tragedy. The six members arrived and placed their orders not knowing the excitement that lay only moments away. I went to ask the Batista if we could move some tables together when a veil off smoke began to creep across the establishment. With a collective look of puzzlement, we wondered what caused this smoke. The lady quickly realized that she left a muffin on a tray on the burner. With this realization the fire alarm went off which created further chaos. Even with all this going on, the Batista managed to fill her orders. One table never looked up as if this were a common occurrence. Once the smoked had cleared and the alarm was silenced the fire department showed up. With full gear and axes in hand, they were ready to save us all from the flaming muffin. I am glad they showed up, but they had looks of great disappointment because it was not an actual fire. Overall this was a successful Meetup in my view because we had a good time and talked for three hours about whatever we wanted in a somewhat relaxed atmosphere. The next location has not been decided upon, so any suggestion are welcome. We have done Baxter Avenue and Main Street, maybe the next location could be in your neighborhood. What does everyone feel like doing next month????
